Jack Abell baseball was brought back to earth after being thoroughly beaten by Outdoor Power at Ort on Saturday.
Outdoor Power jumped out to a quick lead in the bottom of the first, scoring 6 runs to take a lead. But Abell fought back in the top of the second, with 5 runs of their own. After walks to Hotchkiss, Yacuboski, and Riggs, Trenton Swan continued his hot hitting with a single to drive in Hotchkiss. With two outs, Nate Condor was able to drive in three runs, followed by a hit from Colton Sivic to cut the lead to 6-5. The heart of the OP lineup managed to put across three runs in the bottom of the second, and Abell was only down by 4.
But it went from bad to worse in third as walks, errors, and some hits put the game way out of reach. Caleb Sivic did a good job of throwing strikes and trying to keep his team in it, but the game was called after 4 innings as Abell falls to 4-1 on the season.
They are back in action on Monday at Frostburg.
