Abell Goes Overtime Again, Picks up W

For the second consecutive night, Jack Abell baseball went to extra innings to settle the score; this time JA came out on top in a 6-4 win in another good game at Frostburg.

The opponent was a tough PermaSeal team that beat JA in the Pepsi tournament. Like the previous meeting, Permaseal jumped out in front with a run in the first and two more in the third. Abell fought back in the fourth though with a single by Nate Condor who was driven in by Colton Sivic’s double. Colton advanced to third and eventually stole home to cut the lead to 3-2. Abell jumped ahead in the 5th with 2 runs as Logan O’Brien walked and was driven home by Trenton Swans 3rd triple of the season. Swan eventually came home on an RBI by Caleb Sivic.
After Permaseal pushed across a run in the 5th inning to tie, Abell turned to Trenton Swan to pitch the 6th and 7th innings. Trenton pitched great, limiting PermaSeal to a single baserunner in each inning.

Abell went ahead in the top of the 7th. Trenton Swan reached base for the second straight time, drawing a walk to lead off the inning. Caleb Sivic moved him around with a single and Nate Condor and Colten Sivic drove them home each with hits of their own. Although Permaseal snuffed out the rally after that, it was too late to keep Abell from victory.

Both Nate Condor and Colton Sivic had three hits and Tyler Hotchkiss had two. Trenton Swan had a triple and scored twice and Caleb Sivic had a single and an RBI. Colton, Trenton, and Chad Broadway pitched a strong game as Permaseal only had three hits. It was a good win against a well balanced team. Abell hits the midway point of the season with a record of 5-3
